What is the difference between the BC SPCA Kamloops Spay Neuter Clinic and a Full-Service Veterinary Hospital?

The Kamloops clinic offers lower cost spay and neuter to both the public and to its BC SPCA animals. We aim to control the animal population and reduce the number of stray or unwanted pets by providing affordable options for these procedures Please note that unlike a full-service clinic, we have a limited ability to respond to rare but serious complications secondary to anesthesia or surgery. For this reason, we limit our patients to only young healthy animals. Please keep this in mind when choosing our services, as you may prefer to go to a full-service clinic, based on your preferences. We have provided some examples of when we recommend a full-service clinic for your animal’s spay or neuter procedure. To keep costs low, we also do not require bloodwork for our young surgical patients. Bloodwork can help detect underlying issues that may not be detectable on physical exams and is recommended prior to any anesthesia. If you would like bloodwork to be done, we recommend booking your procedure with a full-service clinic. The limitations associated with our Spay / Neuter clinic are as follows: We recommend going to a full-service clinic for your pet’s spay or neuter if: Pet feeling blue? Use our online symptom checker Pet Health Checker
